“THE FRONT”

We are looking for local Dubbo Talent for a World War 1 Feature Film titled “The Front” to be filmed in Dubbo between December 3^rd and December 18^th.

We need Males, aged between 18 and 40, who are interested in playing WW1 Soldiers as Extra’s and Featured Extra Roles.

WHAT TO BRING:  Just bring yourself! We will require auditionees to fill out an information form, have pic taken & talk to camera.

EXTRA ROLES: No experience necessary, so long as you fit the criteria outlined below, and can run through mud whilst holding a gun! Extra’s are talent that fill the background in each scene.

FEATURED EXTRA ROLES: For those with some training or those confident in front of a camera, who can hold varying facial expressions (eg. Fear, Reaction to Gun Shot etc.) and can run through mud whilst holding a gun!

WHAT’S REQUIRED IF SELECTED?

We will require those selected to be available for between 2 and 4 days of filming somewhere between December 3^rd and December 8^th. We are filming a mix of days and nights, so weekdays including during working hours, and or, weekends. Those selected will also be required to be clean shaven, and potentially trim their hair (military haircuts don’t include long hair!!).

Eucalyptus – Catherine Stein

You will take a collection of native leaves and examine and play with then to explore a number of different art practices to create leaf rubbings, leaf scratchings and assemblages (leaf bugs).
Kaleidoscopic Eyes – Catherine Stein
Mon 26/09 | 1pm – 3pm | 6 – 10 year-olds | Fun Class
Send your brain into a spin and create amazing kaleidoscopic mandalas using felt tip pens and paint. You will then use one of your patterns to create the base for an eggshell mosaic.
Cut Loose – Jack Randall
Wed 28/09 | 10am – 3pm (inc 1-hour lunch break)| 9 – 14 year-olds | Master Class
Using basic colour science you will be able to paint pictures that leap out! Jack will demonstrate action painting techniques that capture the energy of wild animals on prepared boards.
Reminiscence – Leanne Watt
Thurs 29/09 | 10am – 3pm (inc 1-hour lunch break) | 9 – 14 year-olds | Master Class
Pour acrylic paints freely onto a canvas and manipulate through movement to produce a recognisable artwork from patterns, shapes and textures that remain. Bring in a family holiday photo of the beach or bush to help inspire your work and relive your holiday experience!
Air Dry Clay Bracelet – Gayle and Rodger Spears
Fri 30/09 | 10am – 12pm or 1pm – 3pm | 6 – 10 year-olds | Fun Classes
Create your own bright, bold and colourful bracelet by cutting a variety of clay shapes and putting them together to form your own personalised bracelet unique to you.

Dubbo’s world-class skate park has attracted the talents of Newton’s Nation to the City for another year.

The road trip consisting of BMX and scooter coaches and other industry players will be in Dubbo on Thursday, 29 September to coincide with the school holidays.

Between 10am and 2pm the team will be at Dubbo Skate Park near the Victoria Park Regional Action Sports Precinct to help the local talent improve their skills, host coaching clinics for the younger ones just starting out on their wheels, and provide some awe-inspiring performances.

Competitions will be run throughout the day with some great giveaways of industry gear up for grabs.

There’ll be a barbecue and drinks available for purchase thanks to the Dubbo PCYC and residents of all ages are encouraged to come along and enjoy the day.
